About Me
Hello! My name is Rebekah, and I'm the mother of 3 amazing little girls. I'm also an architect and elementary/middle school teacher. I've taken time off from working outside the home for the past 5 years to care for my three daughters.
Another part of my life includes the fact that I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Hyperadrenergic POTS (a type of autonomic dysfunction). While these syndromes have been affecting me most of my life, they weren't formally diagnosed until 2016. I struggled with some health issues as a child, but the symptoms didn't progress until I was an adult and after the birth of my 3rd daughter. Our daughters, ages 8, 5, and 4, also have (or are still in the diagnostic phase) these conditions. So we are still fighting our way to answers, diagnoses and treatment/management for myself and our daughters. The goal of this blog is to help others who might be on the same journey, to update our family and friends along the way, to hopefully bring a little awareness to these syndromes, and to be an outlet for me. Thanks so much for reading my blog! -Rebekah |
